Big-hearted staff at Cheerbrook Farm Shop in Nantwich have stepped forward to help keep an end-of-life care service going in memory of their co-founder.

The service was first launched in memory of Cheerbrook boss Andrew Shufflebotham two years ago.

Pupils and staff from schools in Nantwich embraced the festive spirit by taking part in elf runs to raise vital funds for St Luke’s Hospice.

Children from Acton CE Academy, Calveley Primary Academy, Millfields Primary Academy in Nantwich, as well as at St John’s CE Academy in Sandbach and Oak View Academy in Winsford donned elf hats and festive outfits before taking part in sponsored runs.

A Nantwich swimmer has raised £380 for the Wishing Well charity after completing a challenge to swim the equivalent length of the English Channel.

Ethan Carroll, 23, who is on the autistic spectrum, took on the marathon challenge during his weekly sessions at Crewe Lifestyle Centre with Seahorse Swimming Club.
