National charity submits bid to CEC to build Crewe Youth Zone

National youth charity OnSide says it has submitted a planning application to Cheshire East Council for a multi-million pound Youth Zone for Crewe’s young people.

Subject to plans being approved, they say Crewe Youth Zone will be built on the Oak Street Car Park to the south of the town centre.

More delays to the re-opening of the A530 Middlewich Road between Nantwich and Leighton Hospital have been blamed on the weather.

The council is checking on all housing associations and how they are dealing with residents’ complaints about damp and mould “as a matter of urgency”.

More plaques have been installed on landmark buildings in Nantwich to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The new plaques are on Nantwich Civic Hall, Chatwins Bakery (formerly Ye Olde Wyche Theatre), the large building on the corner of Pillory Street and Hospital Street (formerly Chesters’ store), Nantwich Museum and next to the town bridge on Welsh Row.
