Bunbury councillor Becky Posnett has quit the Conservative group on Cheshire East Council and is now sitting as a non-grouped independent.
Cllr Posnett, who was elected to Cheshire East in 2023, was deputy whip of the Conservative group.

Nine new homes are proposed for an ‘unremarkable’ greenfield site in Bunbury.
Applicants Mr and Mrs McCormack have applied for “permission in principle” (PIP) to build the homes, which would include three affordable, on land off Grange Close.
Bunbury Village Day organisers have set this year’s event to take place on Saturday June 14.
