A 72-bedroom care home will be built on Gresty Road in Shavington — despite concerns from one councillor it could burn down like the Notre Dame cathedral.
Cheshire East’s southern planning committee approved the plans yesterday (March 31), paving the way for the 2.5-storey facility to be built.
Developers have unveiled plans for a 72-bedroom specialist dementia care home in Shavington.
The plans are for land off Gresty Road, led by Liberty Care Developments and Anavo.

More than 150 new homes have been given planning permission in the Shavington triangle.

Remembrance Sunday Services were held “virtually” yesterday to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
More “virtual” Remembrance Sunday services are being held across Crewe and Nantwich as real services have had to be cancelled because of Covid lockdown.

Confused residents on Main Road in Shavington are continuing their fight against proposed changes to the road outside their homes.
A proposed Magenta Living housing development of 45 dwellings at the rear of The Elephant public house is reliant on an order requiring alterations to Main Road.
Police are warning Shavington residents to be on guard after a spate of thefts in the village.
They say a number of incidents involving thefts from sheds, garages and vehicles took place overnight on September 28-29.
Cheshire Police has unveiled its new “community policing” model with “dedicated officers and PCSOs” in 122 community areas.
It will include new police bases in community and village halls in and around Nantwich.
