A charity open day held at the miniature-gauge Peacock Railway in Nantwich has raised vital funds.
The rides were organised by the members of the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society and took place on their premises behind The Peacock Inn in Willaston.
RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre is opening its doors this weekend so the public can take a tour around the charity’s award-winning RHS Chelsea Garden.
The garden opens at the centre on London Road on September 30 for the first of five Saturday free-of-charge open days.
The highly-acclaimed “The Very Best In Stand Up” returns to Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday October 6 with another stacked bill of top comedy.

The trust’s new ambassador Rhiane Fatinikun, founder of Black Girls Hike, and TV presenter Steve Brown are championing the Big Wild Walk this year.
October sees the return of Nantwich’s popular Words and Music Festival, with massive names like Ocean Colour Scene, Rumer and PP Arnold performing live.
The event, which runs from October 9-15 inclusive, has been bringing household names from music and poetry to the town since 2008
Small businesses and craft stalls in South Cheshire are being urged to secure a place at the St Luke’s Hospice Christmas Fair.
Bookings are now open for the fair which will take place on Saturday November 18 at the Winsford Academy, between 10am and 2pm.

A ‘Bag a Bargain in the Barn’ at Henhull Hall Farm on Welshmans Lane in Nantwich has helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
The event was hosted and organised by Philip and Joyce Percival with the help and support from their family, friends and local charities.

It is running for eight weeks across the UK and plays in South Cheshire on Monday and Tuesday September 18-19.
A performance of ‘The Proms at Acton’ will take place in St Mary’s Church Acton on Remembrance Sunday November 12.
The concert will start at 6.30pm and include a medley of rousing music performed by the highly acclaimed Nantwich Concert Band.

A special ‘Display & Running Models of Crewe Built Locos’ event took place at The Peacock Railway in Nantwich.
It was held as part of the 180th anniversary celebrations of the Grand Junction Railway Engineering Works moving from Edge Hill to Crewe.
The Beautiful South’s co-founder Dave Hemingway’s is bringing his new band “Sunbirds” to play at the Nantwich Words & Music Festival.
The group will be performing at Nantwich Town Football Club on Monday October 9 as part of the week-long programme of events during the festival.
Organisers of the successful Nantwich Food Festival are already busy looking for new volunteers for the 2024 event.
Volunteer co-ordinator Ana Martins was keen to thank her team of volunteers who worked during the 2023 festival.
