Stagecoach is to offer passengers FREE travel for the first week of its new number 84 services between Crewe-Chester via Nantwich.
The company is taking over the service from April 24 after Arriva announced it was closing its Cheshire depot and ending a number of services, including the number 84.
Stagecoach says it will run the Chester to Crewe via Nantwich bus service amid Arriva’s plan to end the route.
Arriva announced last week it was set to close its Winsford and Macclesfield depots and stop running a range of bus routes, including the 84.
Vital bus routes such as Nantwich to Chester and Shavington to Leighton Hospital could be axed for good under new plans by Arriva North West.
The company has announced that it is consulting with affected employees on a proposal to close its Winsford and Macclesfield depots.
