Residents in and around Nantwich have today been informed of the Cheshire East Council Christmas bin collection schedule.
Information stickers are being placed on black bins of households whose normal black and silver bin collections fall on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day advising residents of changes to their collection schedule over the festive season.

Cheshire East Council has no plans to introduce parking charges on the council-owned staff car park in Sandbach – meaning its workers will continue to park free if others are charged.

More than 11,300 households in Cheshire East have so far signed up to the council’s subscription scheme to have their garden waste bins emptied from next year.
Of those, 9,500 have already paid the annual £56 charge, which has boosted the council’s coffers by £532,000.

Cheshire East Council says matters relating to contaminated land have “almost been resolved” on a 263-home estate which is being lived in but doesn’t have planning permission.

Cheshire East Council should suspend proposed parking and green bin charges until it knows how it will be financially compensated for the scrapping of HS2, a councillor said.
Cllr Reg Kain (Lib Dem) said if the council had committed £11m to HS2, of which £8m had already been spent, then the additional £3m would be returned to the council budget.
