A Nantwich woman injured in an incident with a train at Willaston level crossing, has suffered multiple fractures.

It’s believed the 46-year-old was struck by a train on the crossing, breaking her arm in several places.

The new £7million road linking the A500 at Shavington with Gresty Road in Crewe is to be unveiled on Monday (July 27).

The 0.7-mile Basford West Spine Road will be named Jack Mills Way, after the late train driver from Crewe who was attacked during the notorious Great Train Robbery in 1963.

Blow for Stapeley campaign as Government reverses Muller Property ruling

New Local Government Communities Secretary Greg Clark has reversed a decision to dismiss Muller Property Group’s appeal over refusal for its “Nantwich South” development.

In March, Eric Pickles overruled a planning inspector and dismissed Muller’s appeal against Cheshire East Council, which had refused permission for 189 homes and an access road.
