A former Cheshire East leader has asked why councillors were not informed of reports the council is being investigated by police.
Audlem Cllr Rachel Bailey (pictured) referred to a story in the Congleton Chronicle which stated police were investigating accusations of misconduct in public office at the council.

When the government announced its plans to scrap HS2, the region around Crewe was devastated but now it appears that there may be a silver lining to the cancellation.
Questions are being asked by residents of the village of Audlem in Cheshire as to whether, with the plans the government has announced to open more branch lines and invest more locally in the north west, the old train line to Audlem which finally closed in 1967 is going to be reopened and the station rebuilt!

They led 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Keiron Duckers and a Danny Lavalette penalty.
Nantwich Pirates earned a fine win in the Presidents Cup against Leighton FC.
Mike Truan bagged a hat-trick for the Pirates at the King George V playing fields.
The Wrenbury & District Model Railway Club are to take their layouts “on tour”.
It follows their successful Open Doors event earlier this month.
