CEC’s Ansa Environmental Services are linking up with Everybody Health and Leisure to run the scheme.

Cheshire East Council’s “engagement” with the public about the new charge for garden waste collection poses more questions than answers, the opposition leader has said.

The council agreed at its budget meeting in February to introduce charges for garden/food waste bin collection and is hoping to rake in up to £4m when the scheme comes into operation.

Cheshire East Council and developer Countryside need to “step up and deliver on their moral obligations” to people living on a Crewe housing estate with no planning permission, the House of Commons leader has said.

Penny Mordaunt MP also wondered “how in God’s name it could have happened” as she was responding to a question from Crewe and Nantwich MP Kieran Mullan (Con) about the plight of residents living at Coppenhall Place.

Reaseheath College horticulture students have planted a cherry blossom tree outside St Mary’s Church in Nantwich to mark the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The Prunus incisa ‘Mikinori’ is a small Fuji tree that is covered with bee-friendly pink flowers in Spring and develops colourful foliage in the Autumn.

The RSPCA has launched an appeal after four dead dogs were found dumped on the side of a lane in South Cheshire.

The dogs were found in plastic bags and are thought to be around under six months old. RSPCA think they are rottweiler type dogs.

Pupils from 14 primary schools and two secondary schools in the Nantwich Education Partnership have helped to create these colourful Coronation Crowns for the town centre.

The crowns are on display on St Mary’s Church green and Whitebeam tree next to it.
