Community stalwart Geoff Parsons MBE is to retire as chairman of the board of trustees for The Wingate Special Children’s Trust at the end of the year.
Geoff has been involved with the charity since 1998 when he joined as a trustee, shortly afterward being appointed chairman of the charity.

Visitors enjoyed the sixth annual ‘Christmas Tree Festival’ at St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton.
The event was free entry, with donations received towards church funds, and allowed visitors to view 40 beautifully dressed 6ft Christmas trees.

A Christmas concert featuring The Funky Choir at St Mary’s Church on Monks Lane in Acton has helped raise vital funds for charity.
The Funky Choir, which formed in 2010 in Nantwich, performed a mixture of pop, jazz, gospel, rock and rhythm and blues music in the first half.
A life-saving defibrillator machine has been installed to cover the rural parish of Hatherton and Walgherton near Nantwich.
Parishioners have been working over the last few months to raise funds for the new equipment.

Dilapidated traditional brick buildings at a former farm in Aston near Nantwich are to be converted for housing.

A timber chalet in Wybunbury due to be demolished because it was built without planning permission can remain and be used for offices, the council has said.

The event in the village’s Memorial Hall was organised by the Crewe & Nantwich Cancer Research UK Group.
