Organisers of the annual “Holly Holy Day” Battle of Nantwich re-enactment are calling for more volunteers to help bring the historic event to life.

The re-enactment, a staple in the town’s calendar, commemorates the 1644 siege and subsequent victory during the English Civil War.

“Landscapes to Surrealism” exhibition opens at Nantwich Museum

An exhibition called “Landscapes to Surrealism” by local artist Ray Perez has opened at Nantwich Museum and is due to run until Saturday February 15.

The exhibition has a penchant for strong colours employing a variety of techniques including water colour, gouache, oil, acrylic and coloured pencil to portray a wide variety of subjects from local landscapes to abstract and surrealism.

The rides will run every Saturday morning (10am to noon) on December 7th, 14th, and 21st on the outdoor miniature-gauge 7 ¼” track next to the church on Hospital Street.

The opening times for viewings are Friday (10am-8pm), Saturday (9:30am-3pm) and Sunday (1-5pm). Entry fee = £3 per person (no booking required).
