Motorists are being warned to be aware of controversial changes to car parks in Cheshire East which go live from Monday December 2.
From that date, parking charges will come into effect at most CEC-owned car parks where parking is currently free.

Drivers are paying to use a Nantwich car park when they don’t have to because of confusion over official signs.
Official signs on Snow Hill car park say charges apply until 6pm. But an old laminated A4 sheet higher up says it’s “free after three”.
Nantwich Town councillors are to discuss plans by Cheshire East to scrap cash payments on all but one of the council-run car parks in the town.
Cheshire East highways committee agreed back in January to going “cashless” on its car parks.
Work has started on the refurbishment of the Snow Hill public toilets in Nantwich.
Nantwich Town Council says the work will last around eight weeks and there will be restricted access for pedestrians between Snow Hill car park and Beam Street.

Cheshire East Council has secured more than £150,000 from the government to install electric vehicle charging points in its towns.
Work is expected to start on installing the infrastructure in towns across the borough within the next few months.

The “free after 3pm” parking initiative will be retained on certain car parks from June 15, including Snow Hill in Nantwich.

A Section 77 notice has been served on the latest group of travellers to set up an unauthorised encampment on Barony Park in Nantwich, authorities said.
Nantwich Town Council was told tonight (July 11) that the notice means they have to leave by tomorrow evening or face court action.
