Thousands of people enjoyed the annual Wybunbury Fig Pie Wakes on one of the hottest days of the year.
The event, organised by the Wybunbury Tower Preservation Trust, dates back at least 200 years.
Frustrated residents in Nantwich feel they are being left in the dark over the progress of the A51 spine road at Reaseheath.

Plans to convert Wybunbury Post Office and General Store back into two houses have been refused despite the owners arguing the business has become unsustainable.
The current owners purchased the post office and general store in 2012.

Wistaston Singers performed a fundraising Gala Concert at St Andrew’s Methodist Church on Wrenbury Road in Aston, Nantwich.
The concert, watched by more than 100 people, also featured ukulele group Ukes Alive and a soloist singer.
Renowned jazz duo Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer are heading to Shavington for a live gig as part of a UK tour.
The saxophone and piano duo, from Scotland, will be performing at Shavington Village Hall on Main Road on Saturday June 17.

Cheshire East planners have recommended approval for up to 25 entry-level homes on a Bunbury site where permission for 15 homes was refused less than two years ago.
In July 2021 the southern planning committee turned down an application from Roger Ryder to demolish a house called Parkside, on Bunbury Lane, and build 15 homes on the land.

This year the concert will feature Roy G Hemmings and The Dictionary of Soul.
A man has died after a crash on Wettenhall Road in Poole near Nantwich earlier this week.
The 47-year-old from Crewe was taken to hospital after the incident near to the junction of Dairy Lane.

Thousands of people enjoyed the 42nd ‘Marbury Merry Days’ two-day traditional country fair in fine weather.
The fair is organised by St Michael & All Angels Parochial Church Council and takes places every May in the field next to St Michael & All Angels Parish Church and Marbury Big Mere, just three from Wrenbury, near Nantwich.
Organisers say final plans are in place for Bunbury Village Day which is due to be held on Saturday June 17.
The event, now in its 54th year, has a Space theme this year, with organisers hoping to “boldly go where no man (or woman) has gone before”!

They are holding a Family Open Day at the club on Church Lane on Saturday (May 13) between 2pm-4pm with free admission and everyone is welcome.
