A Willaston woman is tackling a daring trek across the Sahara Desert to raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice.

Sarah Iggo, 47, is taking on a 30-mile walk across part of the desert this October half-term.

A ‘Celebrate Harvest – Pumpkins, Plants and Pollinators’ event was held at St Mary’s Church in Acton, near Nantwich on Sunday.

Inside the church, “Tea at the Tower” embraced harvest with drinks and cakes, craft and harvest exhibits, a harvest pollinator quiz, a folk band and Acton Academy displays.

The 26th ‘Annual Community Duck Race and Children’s Model Boat Race’ took place at the Joey the Swan parkland area, and organised by volunteers from Wistaston Community Council village events team and Wistaston Memorial Hall.
