Eleven local walkers and nine dogs braved the rain to take part in the annual Wistaston Community Council Boxing Day stroll.

The group started at Wistaston Memorial Hall on Church Lane in Wistaston.

Audiences were entertained at Wistaston Community Council’s annual ‘Christmas Concert’ at St Mary’s Church Hall in Wistaston.

The concert featured the Wells Green Choir led by Myra Wood, Wistaston Church Lane Academy Choir led by Helen Collett and soloist Alana Scott.

Residents in parts of rural South Cheshire hit by repeat flooding since October fear they are being ignored by Cheshire East Council.

The area was hit by heavy rain throughout the autumn, but drainage is still struggling to cope with blocked gullies leaving nowhere for surface water running from farmland to travel.
