A “The Proms Acton” fund-raising concert at St Mary’s Church in Acton has helped raise thousands of pounds for Royal British Legion.

More than 250 graduands who completed degrees at University Centre Reaseheath in Nantwich joined peers from the University of Chester for a spectacular graduation ceremony held in Chester’s historic cathedral.
The graduands were awarded degrees in agricultural science, animal management, canine clinical behaviour, equine science, zoo management, wildlife conservation and ecology, landscape architecture, adventure sports and coaching, rural events management, dairy technology and food science.

Thousands of people packed into Nantwich town centre for the traditional Nantwich Christmas lights switch on.
The event in the town square last night (November 18) was organised by Nantwich Town Council.
More people in Nantwich than anywhere else in Cheshire East have registered to take part in a new “pick up litter and get fit” scheme.
The Cheshire East Council initiative encourages people to get active, spend time outdoors and help to keep local neighbourhoods litter free.

Cheshire East Council is paying £3,000 more per pupil than most equivalent councils to transport some children to school each year.
This includes paying on average £71 for a 10-mile taxi journey or £118 for a 20-mile journey – way above the expected £21 or £41 costs respectively.
