Cheshire Police have seized and destroyed six e-scooters ridden on public highways in Crewe – and warn they will do the same in all towns if parents buy them for children at Christmas.
Police and crime commissioner John Dwyer also urged residents to report their neighbours if they had the vehicles and were riding them illegally on public roads or pavements.

Musicians from South Cheshire have come together to produce a charity Christmas album for a local homeless charity.
The artists – known collectively as ‘The Electric Sprout Foundation’ – have each performed an original family-friendly festive track for a 12-track album, titled ‘Snow Business’.
Festive shoppers in Nantwich will get four FREE car parking days in a bid to boost trade in the run up to Christmas.
The free parking scheme is run by Cheshire East Council and Nantwich Town Council.
Residents in and around Nantwich have today been informed of the Cheshire East Council Christmas bin collection schedule.
Information stickers are being placed on black bins of households whose normal black and silver bin collections fall on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day advising residents of changes to their collection schedule over the festive season.

Christmas goodwill is being felt this summer at St Luke’s Hospice thanks to a donation from Crewe and Nantwich Round Table.
A donation of £1,000, raised by the Round Table’s Santa sleigh tour of the area, has been donated to the hospice to help towards patient care.
Cheshire Police “safety buses” used in Nantwich and Crewe over Christmas and New Year have been hailed a success.
The buses were in Nantwich and Crewe for 12 nights and helped 377 people.
More than 1,790 people were arrested during Cheshire Police’s Christmas operation, including more than 200 in the Crewe and Nantwich area.
The force has issued its latest figures which show a rise of 23% in arrests compared to the previous year.
