The Very Best In Stand Up’ returns to Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday March 3 with four more top acts from the UK comedy circuit.
The compere for the evening is Pete Otway, a multi-award nominated comedian, presenter and former dairy farmer.
Nantwich councillors look set to sign up to a new community solar panel scheme which could save them around £1,400 a year in energy costs.
The scheme, run by not-for-profit Nantwich Mill Community Energy Company (NMCEC), would involve installing solar panels across the roof the Civic Hall on Market Street.
Nantwich Town councillors have agreed to reduce the council’s portion of Council Tax by 5% for 2023-24.
The proposal was voted through by councillors at the Civic Hall meeting last night (December 15)
More plaques have been installed on landmark buildings in Nantwich to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
The new plaques are on Nantwich Civic Hall, Chatwins Bakery (formerly Ye Olde Wyche Theatre), the large building on the corner of Pillory Street and Hospital Street (formerly Chesters’ store), Nantwich Museum and next to the town bridge on Welsh Row.

A fundraising Bingo Night for the Royal British Legion took place at Nantwich Civic Hall.
The event also featured a raffle, tombola and prize draw and was organised by Sue Goodwin, John Broomhall and Diane Smith.
The New Year’s Comedy Special returns to Nantwich Civic Hall on New Year’s Eve with a star-studded bill of comedy followed by a disco.
Hosting the event is Dave Williams, who has been a full-time comedian since 1998, and is booked both as stand-up and compere by a range of venues/promoters.
A number of Christmas concerts and performances are set to take place in and around Nantwich as the festive season kicks in.
First up is Concordia – a chamber choir which formed when a group of singers met outside to sing during lockdown
Organisers of Nantwich Food Festival have been honoured with an award from the High Sheriff of Cheshire, Jeannie France-Hayhurst.
The special award to the entire Nantwich Food Festival Family was presented to recognise “their exceptional service to the community”.

Multi-million record selling band ‘Space’ performed to a packed crowd during this week’s Words and Music Festival.
A host of top acts have been performing at various venues during the six-day festival with the final day today (Sunday October 16).
Popular Nantwich venues and businesses have been shortlisted for the 2022 Nantwich Food Festival awards.
The public vote closed last month and organisers have counted up and shortlisted venues into the top three for each category.
