The Environment Agency issued a Flood Warning along the River Weaver in Nantwich today as levels flooded footpaths.
Persistent rain in the last few days following snow melt at the weekend has led to these high levels, pictured.
A clean-up of the polluted River Weaver in Nantwich has been carried out by Cheshire East Council.
It comes after a large number of dead fish, birds and debris were washed up along riverside park areas in the town due to several pollution incidents.
A man was rescued from the fast flowing River Weaver in Nantwich in the early hours of this morning.
Fire crews and ambulance teams were on the scene at around 3.15am at the river in Mill Street area of the town.

I had hoped that the few remaining mature trees, on the River Weaver riverbank and adjacent to the redevelopment of the former gasworks off Welsh Row in Nantwich, would be spared the cull.
