Aerial photographer Rob Higgins has unveiled his new book “Britain’s Railways from the Air” at an event at Nantwich Bookshop & Coffee Lounge.
For his book Rob captured dozens of aerial photographs, taken with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or drone, to provide a unique perspective of the history and workings of Britain’s railways.
The festive Magical Woodland experience is all set to be opened at Blakemere Village in Cheshire.

Thousands of people attended the annual Crewe Lions Club ‘Charity Fireworks Display’ at Queens Park in Crewe on Sunday.
The park gates were opened at 5pm, the bonfire (making a return this year) was lit at 6:30pm and the fireworks started at 8pm.
A number of local firework displays are taking place in and around Nantwich this weekend, weather permitting!

Thousands of people enjoyed a range of live shows during another successful Nantwich “Words and Music Festival”.
The 16th annual festival took place across different venues, ending on Sunday night with headliners Ocean Colour Scene at Nantwich Civic Hall.
“The Street is my Studio” exhibition celebrating the centenary of local artist J. Haydn Jones (1923-2023), has opened at Nantwich Museum.
It is being staged in the Community Gallery of the Pillory Street venue and will run until Saturday 11 November.
Nantwich Players Studio are to perform a new two-hander production next month, called “Anything is possible if you think about it hard enough”.
The play is written by Cordelia O’Neill and directed by Anastasia Newton.

A charity open day held at the miniature-gauge Peacock Railway in Nantwich has raised vital funds.
The rides were organised by the members of the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society and took place on their premises behind The Peacock Inn in Willaston.
Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s Big Wild Walk is back and takes place from October 16-30.
The trust’s new ambassador Rhiane Fatinikun, founder of Black Girls Hike, and TV presenter Steve Brown are championing the Big Wild Walk this year.
October sees the return of Nantwich’s popular Words and Music Festival, with massive names like Ocean Colour Scene, Rumer and PP Arnold performing live.
The event, which runs from October 9-15 inclusive, has been bringing household names from music and poetry to the town since 2008
